Fish below the dam at Aziscohos Lake.  Since this section of river is considered classic tail water, you’ll find cold water riffles and some amazing pocket water and pools that hold wild brook trout and salmon throughout the entire season.

Anglers will fish a variety of ways from nymphing, to swinging/stripping streamers and soft hackles (wet flies) and of course dries.

The fishing season opens April 1 and continues through September 30th.

Spring season fishing begins to heat up shortly after ice out as the smelt run begins. This tends to be an unpredictable time but casting streamers can elicit aggressive strikes from big trout and salmon.

Throughout the summer and fall seasons, terrestrials become too irresistible for hungry salmon and brook trout.

The scenery and distant views of the mountains of western Maine are awesome!

A lower Magalloway walk/wade adventure is a half or full day of fishing for one or two anglers.
